Irish band Westlife have ensured a personal touch with their farewell Greatest Hits album by teaming with MixPixie, the world’s first personalised CD company.
MixPixie allows fans to create a personalised version of the album, “ensuring that their copy of The Greatest Hits is an entirely personal keepsake dedicated to the band.”
Purchases made from the official Westlife website allows choices from two artwork templates, uploading of a name, photo and text to create a unique and chart-eligible album.
Westlife have enjoyed a 14-year career in the music industry and are set to bow out in 2012 after a mammoth farewell tour including 2 nights at Croke Park Stadium in Dublin.
MixPixie is set to launch in January 2012. It was founded by award-winning entrepreneurs Buffie du Pon, James Perkins and Adam Goodyer. MixPixie allows users to create bespoke compilations with a library of 8 million tracks and 500 different album sleeve templates. The personalised artwork and tracks are also available as downloaded bundles.
The company has also finalised licensing agreements with Sony, Universal and EMI and reached an agreement with the MCPS to cover all music publishing clearances. It is able to offer customers the entire catalogue of each of these major labels to create their compilation albums.
With an abundance of support, it is likely that MixPixie will launch with around 95% of all licensed available music content on the web.
