This just in: the BBC’s female newsreaders are to compete in a special version of Strictly Come Dancing on this year’s Children in Need.
The breaking news from the charity telethon is that Emily Maitlis, Sophie Raworth, Susanna Reid and Sian Williams will bring their current affairs flair to the dancefloor as they take part in a Strictly challenge in front of the show’s male judges.
The newsreaders' ballroom blitz follows last year's Lady Gaga-themed performance and a previous turn as Abba (pictured above).
BBC1’s entertainment extravaganza will also include the battle of the business gurus, as Lord Sugar leaves the safety of his boardroom to enter the Dragons’ Den.
Meanwhile, the cast of EastEnders will perform the hits of Queen, as well as their version of the "Mah Na Mah Na" song made famous by the Muppets, with Harry Hill and Davina McCall among those lending vocal support.
More music comes from JLS and Westlife - and, of course, Children in Need would not be complete without the obligatory teaser of the Doctor Who Christmas special.
Sir Terry Wogan, Fearne Cotton, Alesha Dixon and Tess Daly will host the show live on BBC1 on Friday 18 November.
