Westlife praise dedicated Scottish fans as they arrive in Glasgow

Scottish Westlife fans braved the cold November weather and camped outside Glasgow’s Buchanan Street HMV store for the chance to meet the band, when they arrived for their last ever signing in the city today.

Shane Filan told STV: ""It's quite weird actually we were just talking about it in the bus about how it is the last time we're doing a signing as a band, everything we're doing is for the last time so it is a bit weird.

"The reaction is unbelievable it just shows the dedication we have in Scotland, it's pretty cool."

Westlife announced their split last month after an incredible fourteen years together.

Mark Feehily was keen to ensure fans that although the band won’t be together, they won’t disappear from the spotlight.

“It’s the last time we’ll sign in Glasgow more than likely so it’s a sad day in that sense, but we’re also here to celebrate the last 14 years, it’s not all doom and gloom.

“We’ll be back here soon for our gigs. We’re not dead, we’re just splitting up so we’ll be around individually. You’ll see us all somewhere.”

Westlife’s final tour takes place next year and their greatest hits album, featuring four new tracks, is available now.
